The Mechanical Engineer will support the production, assembly, and maintenance of hire fleet equipment and build-to-buy product lines. Working closely under the Project Engineer – Production, this role will assist with equipment builds, workshop tasks, mechanical integration, and quality control.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, well-organised, and confident working with pumps, pipework, skids, mechanical assemblies, and fabricated components.
They will be predominantly based at our A1 unit in Hollingbourne, however will also be required to attend customer sites.

Responsibilities:

Mechanical Build & Assembly

  • Assemble, install, and test mechanical components for hire fleet equipment, including pumps, pipework, valves, frames, and skid packages.
  • Support the Project Engineer by carrying out mechanical builds based on engineering drawings, P&IDs, and build specifications.
  • Modify and refurbish existing hire equipment as required.
  • Conduct mechanical fit-up checks, alignments, and component inspections.

Workshop & Production Support

  • Work alongside another engineer in the workshop to deliver planned builds on time.
  • Assist with mechanical preparation for FATs and product testing.
  • Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and a safe working environment.
  • Identify mechanical issues or design improvements and feed back to the Project Engineer.

Supplier & Build-to-Buy Support

  • Review incoming goods for mechanical quality and specification compliance.
  • Assist with mechanical integration of supplier-built components/packages.
  • Provide feedback on mechanical manufacturing issues or modification requirements.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete build records and mechanical test sheets.
  • Follow ATAC’s safety procedures, RAMS, and quality control steps.
  • Support in producing as-built mechanical information for project documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential Desirable
  • Experience of working within the water and/or wastewater industries.
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, or similar discipline.
  • Experience with pumps, pipework, welding/fabrication basics, seals, flanges, or mechanical assemblies.

We are seeking a Project Engineer specialising in Pile Cloth Filter (PCF) servicing to join our Operations Department. Working closely with the Senior Project Engineer, you will oversee the planning, delivery, and optimisation of PCF service contracts for multiple water companies across the South and Midlands. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically competent, and capable of managing routine servicing, maintenance, and reactive support for a fleet of pile cloth filtration assets, ensuring reliability, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities:

Service Contract Management

  • Oversee and coordinate all service activities related to pile cloth filter systems, including routine servicing, inspections, refurbishment works, and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensure service schedules are aligned with contract requirements and operational priorities.

Coordination & Planning

  • Work closely with the planning team to organise site visits, allocate resources, and manage workloads for PCF service technicians.
  • Support the Senior Project Engineer in developing service strategies and improving operational efficiency.

Technical Oversight

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact for PCF-related enquiries from clients and internal teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on PCF performance, optimisation, troubleshooting, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis for PCF failures or performance issues.

Problem-Solving & Support

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with pile cloth filter systems, including mechanical, electrical, and process-related faults.
  • Recommend corrective actions, upgrades, or refurbishment works to improve asset performance.
  • Work closely with the Sales Department on supplying remedial quotes.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and review service reports, asset condition assessments, refurbishment proposals, RAMS, and client updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of PCF service activities, asset performance, and contract compliance.

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor service delivery to ensure adherence to quality standards, contract KPIs, and client expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for PCF servicing processes and documentation.

Procurement & Logistics

  • Manage procurement of PCF-specific spare parts, consumables, and replacement components.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials and ensure availability for planned and reactive works.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure all PCF servicing activities are carried out in accordance with H&S legislation, company policies, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote safe working practices and contribute to risk assessments and method statements.

Workshop & Production Support

Control & Panel Support

  • Assist with wiring small control panels and junction boxes.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete electrical test sheets and build records.

The ideal candidate will be a multiskilled Engineer with an electrical engineering background and mechanical understanding. The successful candidate will work within our Engineering Team on installation projects, commissioning, electrical and mechanical fault finding, and emergency breakdown repairs. The role is varied and predominantly based across the South East (Kent, London, Essex, Sussex, Hampshire).
Candidates must hold a recognised electrical qualification supported by a ECS Gold Card, AM2 and have 18th Edition certification.

Responsibilities:

Installation and Commissioning

  • Oversee electrical installation works on client sites, ensuring compliance with ATAC standards and UK regulations.
  • Commission new systems, perform functional testing, and verify correct operation of pumps, blowers, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during installation and commissioning phases.

The Working Site Supervisor will be predominantly responsible for overseeing the delivery, installation, maintenance, and operational performance of aeration lane systems on wastewater treatment sites. This role ensures that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards, ATAC Solutions procedures, and client expectations. The supervisor will manage and work alongside on-site crews, coordinate subcontractors, maintain documentation, and serve as the primary point of contact during site operations.
During Aeration Lane downtime, you will be required to support and supervise other works.

Responsibilities:

Site Management & Operations

  • Supervise and work alongside day-to-day activities related to the installation, refurbishment, and operation of aeration lanes.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with site plans, technical specifications, and project timelines.
  • Conduct daily briefings, task allocations, and coordination with site teams and subcontractors.
  • Monitor equipment performance, aeration systems, blowers, diffusers, pipework, and associated components.
  • Identify and escalate technical issues, faults, or risks in a timely manner.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce a strong safety culture on site and ensure all staff follow ATAC Solutions H&S policies.
  • Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary on-site representative for ATAC Solutions.

  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in wastewater, utilities, or mechanical installation.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of aeration lanes, wastewater treatment processes, or related systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, method statements, and installation specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with diffuser systems, blower installations, pipework assembly, and aeration equipment.
  • Confined Space certification.
  • Mechanical or process engineering background.
  • Water industry experience (WIMES knowledge is a plus).
